Di866 Mark II

For Canon, Nikon

The advanced model for professional TTL and off-camera photography

The advanced features in the Nissin Di866 Mark II make this the perfect flash for professional use as a master or even combined with original flash units as an off-camera slave. Its zoom motor operates at a particulary low volume level of less than 70dB and weighs a mere 13.4 oz. (1). The high performance wireless sensors cover a distance of up to 27 unobstructed yards. Compatible with Canon's E-TTL / E-TTL II and Nikon's i-TTL/i-TTL-BL systems (2), the integrated TTL capability can control the amount of light with greater precision and stability. With an output of GN 60 at 105 mm and GN 35 at 35 mm, the Nissin Di866 Mark II provides just the right amount of light for nearly every situation.

Professional flash head design
The flash head rotates 90° horizontally to the right and 180° to the left to right, and tilts upwards to 90° making bounce shooting more arbitrary and to maximize the angles that can be used.

The Di866 Mark II features an extra small flash (GN 12) just below the main flash to provide a nicely balanced fill light while bouncing the main flash. Bounced light may shadow the underside of a face or cause undesired shadows on your subject, which can be offset by using the sub-flash, the power ratio of which can be set from 1/1 to 1/128.

Power zoom
The Nissin Di866 Mark II supports a 24-105 mm automatic zoom. When zooming with your camera's lens, the extremely quiet power zoom automatically adjusts the light angle at an effeciently fast speed to ensure getting in that shot when you need it.

Variable power
When using the manual EV mode, choose from one of the 22 variable powers for the best lighting effect. The power level is provided from full down to 1/128 power in 1/3EV increments.

Flash level compensation
  • TTL: Supports Canon E-TTL/E-TTL II and Nikon i-TTL/i-TTL-BL and is automatically synchronized by the camera. The power of the flash can be regulated using the TTL flash level compensation.
  • Manual: The flash power can be adjusted manually in 22 levels, from full to 1/128 power in 1/3 stops. The appropriate distance to the subject is shown in the display in accordance with the aperture value set on the camera.
  • Av priority: Compensation for the amount of light is automatically adjusted by the built-in photo sensor on the Di866 Mark II, instead of using the Through The Lens metering. The f/ stop can be set from f/1.4 - f/16 and the maximum flash range is shown in the display.
  • Multi Flash: The power ratio can be set from 1/8 to 1/128.
An ingenious solution for off camera flash techniques
The Di866 Mark II Wireless TTL system supports Canon & Nikon wireless TTL systems and can be combined with the original brand flashes to function either as a master or remote flash. In manual or Av priority mode, the Di866 Mark II also supports built-in camera flashes and/or studio flash systems for digital and analog film type cameras.

NISSIN original "My TTL" setting
The TTL flash power level is pre-set for normal exposure at the factory. However, you can set the desired exposure level to ±3.0EV in 1/3 increments. The pre-set value is then memorized as your personal standard even after switching the unit off. The TTL flash compensation will now work based on this customized setting.
